About WasteMap Florida

Prior to the development of WasteMap Florida, there was no statewide system for mapping and tracking solid waste facilities in Florida.

With increases in technology and the broad use of the internet, the establishment of a comprehensive website to provide information regarding Florida's solid waste facilities is imperative. Using GIS and state-of-the-art dynamic mapping technology, this web site shows the locations of all types of Florida Solid Waste Facilities including (but not limited to):

• Landfills
• Waste-to-Energy Facilities
• Recycling Centers
• Household Hazardous Waste Centers
• Material Recovery Facilities (MRF)
• Tire Processors
• Construction and Demolition Debris (C&D)

WasteMap Florida allows the general public to find convenient local disposal facilities, view pertinent facility information and get driving directions to them.
